PACT volunteers met May 7 at Decatur Country Club for the annual Appreciation Luncheon, celebrating 30 years of strengthening families in Morgan County. Guests welcomed speaker, Naomi Griffith, former PACT executive director and motivational speaker. She is currently owner of Red Clay and Vinegar, a Nashville consulting firm.
Tammy Anderson presented the Outstanding Community Volunteer Award to Dr. Charles F. Betts, Jr, and staff for sponsoring "Give Kids a Smile." Melinda Woller presented the Gail Hurst Scholarship to Ashley Offord, a graduate of Samford University, and graduate student at the University of North Alabama. She recently finished an internship at PACT.
Debbie Heard presented the Gail Hurst Service Award to Kay Woller, a former board president who assisted PACT in obtaining its current location. She is also a current board member.
Nicole Shelton and Whitney Clemons, representing Decatur Assembly, presented PACT with $30,000 proceeds from the annual PACT Ball. Alicia Nails, president of Junior League of Morgan County, presented PACT with $4,000 proceeds from the league's annual fundraisers. Leigh Ellen Atkins of Decatur Charity League presented PACT with $5,000 from fundraisers such as Festival of Trees.
